Jef Huijbers
Jef has been part of Noigroup since 2021, initially joining as a trainee under the guidance of Bart van Buchem and Tim Beames. Since 2024, he has taught his own Explain Pain courses in the Netherlands and Belgium. He joined Noigroup with the desire to share his interest in persistent pain and pain science education with like-minded people.
Jef is a pain specialist physiotherapist at FysioVeghel and a lecturer at SOMT University of Physiotherapy in Amersfoort, both in the Netherlands. With a background as a physiotherapist and a musculoskeletal physiotherapy scientist, Jef is driven by a passion for bridging the gap between research, practice and education. His mission is to deliver pain science education at both individual and public levels, aiming to promote better management of persistent pain.
Jef is sinds 2021 betrokken bij Noigroup. Hij begon als trainee onder begeleiding van Bart van Buchem en Tim Beames. Sinds 2024 verzorgt hij zelfstandig Explain Pain-cursussen in Nederland en België. Hij sloot zich aan bij Noigroup om zijn passie voor chronische pijn en pijneducatie te delen met collega’s met dezelfde interesse.
Jef werkt als fysiotherapeut gespecialiseerd in chronische pijn bij FysioVeghel en is docent fysiotherapie aan de SOMT University in Amersfoort. Met een achtergrond in zowel musculoskeletale fysiotherapie als wetenschappelijk onderzoek zet hij zich in om de kloof tussen wetenschap, praktijk en onderwijs te dichten. Zijn belangrijkste drijfveer is het verbeteren van de pijnzorg en het vergroten van kennis over chronische pijn. Zijn doel is om pijneducatie toegankelijk te maken voor zowel professionals als het brede publiek.’
